The N800 is for the more technologically savvy user. Most people don’t understand the significance of it being open source. The iPhone is extremely locked down like any other device apple has ever released. If you aren’t a hardcore computer user, developer or fan of Linux, then you are right…you probably will like the iPhone much better. It’s very simple to use, which is what Apple has established as their niche in the market. It has it’s charm and I won’t deny that, however I like the idea of being able to do my own development for my N800. The posibilities for the N800 are endless, where with the iPhone you pretty much get what you get. That can’t be done with the iPhone. In reality this is like comparing apples and oranges. They each appeal to a different market.
after 100s of web comments on iphone and n800 thanks for your sensible one. apples and oranges .. ha ha .. too true. i prefer n800 btw. i am going to buy that in 2-3 days. i was not sure about the fidelity of skype on it, but i guess complaints about skype not supporting camera and stuff are getting fewer day by day. the ONLY reason to buy n800 for me is skype. thanksfor your comment. now i am not gonna search for a single more review about iphone or n800.
David Pogue was of the New York Times was liimited to handle the iPhone for only 30 minutes. How much time did Starry Hope get?
The N800 is not a Mobile Phone. N800 can’t use Edge technology for on the go connectivity.
For Nokia to bring out a cute little box without GSM, 3g or Edge, or even blackberry seems a huge oversight.
Iphone kills the N800, simple.
N800 is a lot cheaper and has Linux, don’t need a phone and have WiFi everywhere, ghive it a try.
