DSC Video Music Podcast #1
Geoff Smith’s video to his Podsafe song ‘Not On The Radio’ inspired me to create a video podcast. Messing around a bit with the format, but this might become a regular show.

Cute Kid! The music reminds me of XTC…take that as a real good thing!
OK that made my day. After coming home with a migraine from work, I heard my iMac give me the “you have just downloaded a podcast” tone.
After taking something to get rid of it, I wanted to see what downloaded since, I wasn’t expecting anything.
I am so glad I watched what downloaded. Feeling much better and don’t think that the medicine has kicked in yet.
Oh and Geoff daughter is so cute! I loved it.

I just noticed that your type attribute on the enclosure does not seem to be correct. it is suggesting that you have attached a text file.
you should use type=’video/x-m4v’ for .m4v quicktime (ipod flavoured) video.

Wordpress 2.0 has a lil’ problem with doing enclosures right.
Get this plugin: KG Enclosureflex
It allows you much greater flexibility in handling enclosures in Wordpress.
And that video was damn cute! I’m gonna play that song in my ‘cast tonight…just because!

I wonder….can members of the U.S. military use tracks from music.podshow.com in internal, intranet podcasts?
The U.S. Army does have the largest closed intranet portal on the planet at http://www.us.army.mil after all. And we are seriously looking at this technology as a way to get info out from commanders to soldiers all over.

This video is the way podsafe content should be. It’s fun to watch, it’s cool and it is a proof that music videos don’t have to cost a fortune. It’s the idea that counts! A lot of artists are not creative enough to dare such a production. I hope this piece will encourage them to think thier strategies over and invest in their brains instead of spending money for the big production companies.
No wonder that the major lables are not making enough money. They simply spend to much.
Adam, please continue to spread this kind of content as I’m convinced it will change the industrie – even the major players.
iball: We are working on a solution for internal/intranet podcasters who wnt to use the PMN. This is only a technical hurdle.

Great stuff Adam. It’ll be interesting to see whether podsafe videos stay in that sort of vain or whether they go a bit more “traditional” as podcasting develops.

I noticed that this video appears as an enclosure in the dailysourcecode.com RSS feed, but NOT in the curry.podshow.com RSS feed. What’s up with that? I switched my feed reader to the curry.podshow.com feed, and I didn’t even realize that this video had been released until I listened to Friday’s DSC where you mentioned it.
